Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Technician to join our healthcare team in Rochester, NY. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing direct care to patients with mental health conditions and will be comfortable working rotating shifts in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the care, observation, and treatment of individuals with psychiatric disorders.
- Monitor patient behavior and vital signs and report any changes to nursing staff.
- Support therapeutic activities and maintain a safe, structured environment.
- Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
- Document patient interactions and progress accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to support individualized care plans.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Psychiatric Technician or in a related mental health setting.
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
- Current BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm in high-stress situations.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
