Position Overview
RVLock is looking for an experienced, hands-on to help assist in our warehouse and fulfillment operations. This position will work directly under the Warehouse Director and play an important role in maintaining an organized, efficient, and scalable warehouse.
The ideal candidate has 5 years of warehouse experience and understands both the physical and administrative sides of warehouse operations. This is not strictly a desk or supervisory position. The person in this role will work alongside the warehouse team while also helping improve inventory management, receiving, shipping, packaging, forecasting, carrier relationships, warehouse organization and overall warehouse efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Warehouse Manager with day-to-day warehouse and fulfillment operations
- Operate forklift and other warehouse equipment
- Help with staging, picking, packing, shipping, and warehouse organization
- Maintain accurate inventory records and help resolve inventory discrepancies
- Use inventory and warehouse management software to manage orders, receiving, inventory movement, and reporting
- Help forecast inventory, warehouse space, and shipping needs
- Develop and maintain effective processes for direct-to-consumer fulfillment
- Help to manage and improve shipping practices involving UPS, USPS, FedEx, and other carriers
- Help negotiate shipping rates and evaluate carrier performance
- Identify opportunities to reduce shipping, packaging, labor, and material costs
- Improve packaging methods while maintaining product protection and a positive customer experience
- Coordinate with purchasing, accounting, customer service, sales, and other departments
- Assist with cycle counts, physical inventory counts, and inventory audits
- Help oversee warehouse operations when the Warehouse Manager is unavailable
Qualifications
- 5 years of warehouse, fulfillment, distribution, or inventory management experience
- Current forklift certification
- Strong understanding of receiving, inventory staging, order fulfillment, shipping, and warehouse organization
- Experience with inventory management, warehouse management, ERP / order management software (Eg. Shopify, Amazon, OEM, Wholesale, and the like).
- Experience with direct-to-consumer shipping and fulfillment
- Ability to evaluate processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement practical improvements
- Strong computer skills, including spreadsheets, reports, and inventory systems
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while supporting the Warehouse Manager and warehouse team
- Comfortable working both on the warehouse floor and behind a computer
- Ability to safely lift, move, and handle warehouse inventory (ex: preparing pallets for shipping)
Preferred Experience
- Experience managing packaging costs and materials
- Experience with inventory forecasting and demand planning
- Experience in e-commerce or direct-to-consumer fulfillment
- Experience helping a growing warehouse improve systems and processes
