Job description
RVA Eye Care is seeking a Front desk receptionist for one of our locations
The ideal candidate would be friendly, punctual, organized, an excellent multi-tasker, and have experience in an optometric setting.
Summary of Duties:
- Greets and assists patients
- Checks patients in and out for appointments and collects payment
- Occasionally pre-tests patients before their exams
- Answers phones and schedules appointments
- Assists patients with understanding insurance benefits
- Assists patients with learning to use contact lenses
- Pulls and authorizes patients’ insurance benefits
- Assembles and pulls patients’ charts for upcoming appointments
- Maintaining a clean work area and help keep the office clean
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience in optical strongly preferred, but willing to train the right person
- Ability to utilize office equipment such as a multi-line phone, fax machine, and printer
- Comfortable switching gears quickly and managing multiple tasks
- Team player with a positive attitude
Our office is open Mondays-Thursdays from 8:00-6:00, and Fridays from 8:00-5
