Design Engineer – Powersports

About the Role
As a Design Engineer, you’ll lead product design and engineering efforts focused on powersports and off-highway applications. You’ll champion innovation and continuous improvement—driving rugged, cost-effective solutions from concept through commercialization. This position blends technical depth, leadership, and hands-on execution in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead product development from initial concept through production release.
- Mentor and manage one Product Engineer while contributing as an individual contributor.
- Design, analyze, and validate powersports components such as driveline, suspension, chassis, and motion systems.
- Oversee prototype builds, lab testing, and field evaluations for durability and performance.
- Implement cost reduction, DFM/DFA, and VAVE initiatives to improve product value.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure robust designs.
- Benchmark competitors and partner with customers to uncover new product opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (advanced degree preferred).
- 7–10 years of product development experience in powersports, off-road, or related industries.
- 1–2 years of leadership or mentoring experience.
- Strong CAD skills (Creo or SolidWorks preferred).
- Expertise in DFM/DFA, GD&T, validation testing, and ruggedized product design.
- Proven ability to balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on engineering work.
