Rutland City Public Schools | Part-Time Academic Tutor | Rutland High School (Grades 9 - 12)
Position Summary
This grant-funded position supports students in improving academic success by targeting instruction and academic assistance in literacy/reading. The tutor works with students individually and in small groups to strengthen foundational skills, reinforce classroom learning, and address identified learning gaps.
The successful tutor will collaborate closely with classroom teachers, team members, and administrators to align instruction with student goals and core curriculum expectations. Responsibilities include monitoring student progress toward specific learning targets and proficiencies, maintaining documentation of interventions, and adding instructional strategies based on student data.
This position is part-time, up to 18 hours per week, and is contingent upon continued grant funding. Position to begin immediately.
Core Qualifications
- High School Diploma, or equivalent, required. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Literacy, Mathematics, or related field preferred.
- Vermont educator licensure preferred.
- Experience working with high school-aged students
- Ability to provide targeted small-group and individualized instruction.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain accurate documentation.
