At the Rutland Center for Living and Rehabilitation, a premier residential, long-term, rehabilitation, and subacute care provider, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant PTA to join our team!
About the Role:
As a Physical Therapy Assistant PTA, you will play a vital role in our therapy department, working closely with our physical therapists to design and implement individualized treatment plans for our patients and residents. With a focus on rehabilitation and recovery, you will work to enhance mobility, strength, and function in patients with a wide range of conditions and diagnoses.
Responsibilities:
• Assist physical therapists in the development and implementation of treatment plans, including exercise programs and modalities
• Provide direct patient care, including exercises, stretching, and strengthening programs, as well as gait training and balance activities
• Monitor and report patient progress, identifying areas of improvement and adjusting treatment plans accordingly
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient treatment, including progress notes and discharge summaries
• Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists, to provide comprehensive care
• Participate in discharge planning and patient education, providing patients and families with information and strategies for continued care and rehabilitation
Requirements:
• Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant studies or related field
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the State of Vermont
• Minimum 0 years of experience in a rehabilitation setting (new graduate or recent graduate in PTA program)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
• Ability to lift, transfer, and ambulate patients, with a focus on patient safety and comfort
