Position Overview
The Special Education Paraprofessional supports students with disabilities in academic, behavioral, social, and daily living needs under the direction of a licensed special education teacher. The paraprofessional helps implement instructional and behavioral plans, promotes student independence, and contributes to a safe, inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities

Assist the teacher with implementing IEP goals and accommodations.

Provide small-group or one-on-one academic support.

Support positive behavior strategies and student self-regulation.

Assist students with mobility, communication, and personal care needs as required.

Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, and transportation (as assigned).

Adapt and prepare materials as directed by the teacher.

Collect data and record observations to monitor student progress.

Promote inclusion in general education settings when appropriate.

Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district policies and procedures.

Assist with the organization and upkeep of the learning environment.
