What are the responsibilities and job description for the .5 5th Grade/.5 School Counselor or Interventionist position at Ruthven-Ayrshire Community School?
The Ruthven/Ayrshire CSD is seeking qualified applicants for a combined position consisting of 0.5 FTE 5th Grade Teacher and 0.5 FTE School Counselor or Interventionist for the upcoming school year.
This position offers an opportunity to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families to support both academic achievement and student well-being in a positive learning environment.
Position Responsibilities
5th Grade Teacher (.5 FTE)
- Plan and deliver engaging instruction aligned to Iowa Core standards
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Utilize data to guide instruction and support student growth
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
- Collaborate with grade-level and district teams
School Counselor or Interventionist (.5 FTE)
- Provide academic, behavioral, and/or social-emotional support to students
- Assist with intervention programming and progress monitoring
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families
- Support student success through individual and small group services
- Maintain appropriate records and documentation
Qualifications
- Valid Iowa teaching license with appropriate endorsement(s)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
- Experience in elementary education, counseling, or intervention support preferred
