Job Summary
As a Registered Nurse (RN-PRN ED) at Rutherford Regional Health System, you will provide professional nursing care to patients in a collaborative acute care environment, focusing on quality patient outcomes. Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to a group of assigned patients within the hospital.
- Collaborate with the medical staff and other members of the healthcare team to provide quality patient care.
- Triage training, recognition of critical presentation i.e. stroke, chest pain.
- Medication reconciliation training and understanding.
- Perform IV starts and blood collection.
- Identify and address patient/family care needs and/or problems promptly.
- Evaluate and document patient responses to nursing and MD interventions and treatments.
- Initiate discharge planning to meet the discharge care needs of each individual patient.
- Use safe medication practices (Read Back, double checks) and document outcomes.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state compact license).
Preferred Qualifications
- Recent acute care experience within past 3 years.
