What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Title I Tutor position at Rutherford County Schools?
Pinnacle Elementary School is seeking a Part-Time Title I Tutor to provide targeted academic support to students identified through the Title I program. Twenty-four hours a week/4 days a week/no benefits. The tutor will work with individual students and small groups to support growth in reading and/or mathematics using research-based strategies aligned to classroom instruction.
This position plays a vital role in helping students build foundational skills, confidence, and academic success in a supportive, encouraging environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide small-group and one-on-one academic tutoring to Title I–identified students
Support instruction in reading, math, or both, based on student needs
Reinforce classroom instruction using research-based intervention strategies
Monitor student progress and maintain basic documentation as required by Title I
Collaborate with classroom teachers, interventionists, and administration
Create a positive, nurturing learning environment for students
Follow all school, district, and Title I program guidelines
Maintain confidentiality of student information
Qualifications
Required:
Two-year college degree or equivalent, completed college credit hours
Experience working with children (school, tutoring, childcare, or similar)
Preferred:
Experience in an elementary school setting
Background in reading or math intervention
Familiarity with Title I or similar support programs
