Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a CEQA/NEPA Environmental Planner based in Ontario, CA, with the option for some remote work. The Environmental Planner will oversee and prepare environmental documents in compliance with CEQA and NEPA, perform environmental impact analyses, and ensure adherence to applicable regulations. Responsibilities include developing strategies for land use and environmental planning, coordinating with regulatory agencies, managing permitting processes, and supporting mitigation and compliance efforts. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and client engagement will be key aspects of day-to-day tasks.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Environmental Planning, including evaluating project compliance with regulations and developing strategies for sustainability.
- Knowledge of Land Use planning, focusing on development impacts and land management.
- Experience with NEPA, including the development of compliant environmental assessments and impact statements.
- Proficiency in conducting Environmental Impact Assessments and analyzing the potential effects of various projects.
- Understanding of Environmental Policy and applicable regulations such as CEQA, NEPA, the Clean Water Act, and the Clean Air Act.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing documentation and engaging with clients and regulatory agencies.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Ecology, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with geographic regions of Southern California, Arizona, and Nevada is an asset.
