What are the responsibilities and job description for the Life Coach position at Ruth Harbor Ministries?
Purpose for the Position:
The Life Coach works to develop a close mentorship relationship with residents to help guide and assist them in their desire to see life transformation.
Responsibilities (specific areas owned by this position)
- Assist in the admissions process of new clients.
- Develop in collaboration with other staff members an individual care plan for each client.
- Work in close collaboration with the Residential Program Manager (RPM) to help clients successfully complete their assigned program.
- Assign Bright Courses to residents that are relevant to their lives and current challenges.
- Meet weekly with each client to discuss her care plan and to help her in decision-making, planning for the future, and overcoming barriers.
- Assist clients in developing stronger interpersonal relationships and social skills while creating healthy boundaries where toxic relationships impact a client and her child.
- Keep clear, detailed documentation for each client in a client database.
- Work in collaboration with Residential Program Manager (RPM) to evaluate each client’s overall progress and health and make recommendations to help a woman achieve her program goals.
- Coordinate and assist clients when they discharge from Ruth Harbor’s residential program to support their transition to independent living and ensure each client is connected to Ruth Harbor’s Family Care.
- Provides spiritual programming that meets residents where they are at.
- May assist in helping residents make phone calls, fill out assistance applications, obtain social security cards, drivers licenses, birth certificates, etc.
- Support RPM in house meetings, difficult conversations, and disciplinary actions including but not limited to asking a resident to leave.
- Attend weekly staff meeting and collaborate well with other staff.
Job Requirements:
- A clear Christian testimony and a desire to see gospel transformation in the lives of young women.
- Minimum of two years of supervised experience in the area of families/child welfare services.
- Be a person of demonstrated maturity, integrity, and sound judgment, capable of establishing a sound social work program and maintaining the same, and to serve as part of a team.
- Strong understanding and willingness to uphold professional boundaries with residents.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in the human services industry. Years of work experience can be substituted for degree.
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record
Reports to: Residential Program Manager/Program Director
Compensation: $16 to $19 per hour based on experience and developed skills.
- Job hours: This is a part-time position, 10-15 hours per week with extended hours surrounding a client need or crisis
