POSITION: Database Administrator
STATUS: Full-Time/Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Information Technology
REPORTS TO: Director of Information Technology
POSITION CONCEPT:
The Database Administrator supports and advances the organization’s use of Tessitura CRM as part of the IT team. This role serves as the organization’s technical steward for the Tessitura platform, ensuring the reliability, integrity, and effective use of patron, ticketing, fundraising, andmarketing data.
Working closely with departments across the organization, the Database Administrator manages system configuration, reporting, and data governance while helping the organization stay aligned with best practices, system capabilities, and opportunities to leverage new features as they become available.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Administer Tessitura system configuration, including user roles, permissions, and security groups.
- Maintain data integrity through data standards, duplication, and ongoing data hygiene.
- Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and queries to support fundraising, marketing, ticketing, and operational needs.
- Configure and support Tessitura functionality including campaigns, appeals, memberships, and ticketing structures.
- Coordinate Tessitura upgrades, working with staff to support the roll out and integration of new features.
- Support Tessitura components including TNEW (Tessitura Network Express Web) and Tessitura Analytics.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows and expand the organization’s use of Tessitura features.
- Coordinate with IT staff and vendors on integrations between Tessitura and other systems.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on Tessitura functionality and best practices.
- Maintain documentation for system procedures, data standards, and reporting processes.
Qualifications
Education/ Experiences:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience administering Tessitura or a similar CRM system.
- Experience working with complex data systems and reporting tools.
- Experience in performing arts, nonprofit fundraising, or patron-based organizations preferred.
Demonstrated Skills or Knowledge:
- Data analytics and reporting.
- CRM system expertise (Tessitura preferred).
- Process improvement and workflow optimization.
- Cross-department communication and collaboration.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical staff.
- Documentation and training.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods-of-time.
- Ability to operate computer, calculator, and other basic office machines.
- Ability to use telephone.
- Ability to maintain good attendance.
Other:
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screen.
