Position Overview Bean and Rose Corp is seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Cake & Pastry Chef with a strong background in wedding cake design and production. This role is responsible for executing wedding cakes and desserts at the highest level of quality, ensuring every product aligns with our brand aesthetic, client expectations, and curated catalogs. This is a production and execution role—not a sales position. You will work closely with our sales coordinator, who will hand off fully approved orders for execution.
Key Responsibilities - Wedding Cake & Dessert Production - Execute custom wedding cakes and dessert items based on approved designs, catalogs, and client preferences - Maintain consistency with company style, presentation standards, and brand identity - Handle all aspects of cake production including baking, filling, stacking, frosting, and detailed decoration
Design Execution & Quality Control - Translate client-approved concepts into polished final products with precision and attention to detail - Ensure structural integrity, clean finishes, and professional-level decoration for all cakes - Maintain a high standard of craftsmanship across all wedding and event orders
Order Coordination & Workflow Management - Plan weekly production schedules based on upcoming weddings and events - Coordinate with the sales coordinator to fully understand order details, timelines, and expectations - Manage multiple orders simultaneously while maintaining quality and deadlines
Delivery & Logistics Coordination - Ensure all cakes and desserts are completed and ready for delivery on schedule - Coordinate with drivers and/or delivery team to align timing and logistics - Occasionally assist with or oversee deliveries to ensure safe transport and proper setup
Kitchen Operations - Work primarily out of our Longmont kitchen for all baking and production - Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe workspace - Occasionally execute baking or finishing work at offsite venues when required
Qualifications - Required: Proven experience in wedding cake baking and decorating - Strong portfolio demonstrating wedding cake design, structure, and finishing techniques - Experience managing multiple custom cake orders under tight timelines - High attention to detail, organization, and time management - Ability to follow brand guidelines while adapting to client-specific designs - Comfortable working independently and as part of a team - Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Compensation & Growth - Starting Pay: $20/hour - Additional Earnings: Event gratuity on applicable jobs - Schedule: Part-time to start, with increased hours during peak wedding seasons - Growth Path: Opportunity for increased responsibility, pay, and leadership as the company scales
