Get Paid to Install Christmas Lights!
Looking for something more interesting than a typical seasonal job?
Rusty's Holiday Lights is hiring Christmas Light Installers for the 2026 holiday season!
Spend your fall outdoors helping transform homes and businesses throughout the Puget Sound into professional Christmas displays. You'll climb ladders, walk roofs, wrap trees, hang wreaths, install thousands of lights, and work alongside a crew that keeps moving.
No Christmas light experience? That's okay — we provide paid training.
There is one BIG requirement:
YOU MUST BE COMFORTABLE WITH HEIGHTS.
If you enjoy hands-on work, being outdoors, staying active, and seeing the results of your work every day, this could be a great seasonal job for you.
Pay & Advancement
$20–$25 per hour, depending on experience, position, and responsibilities.
Performance and production bonus opportunities may also be available.
Strong performers may have opportunities to advance throughout the season:
Installer → Lead Installer → Crew Lead
Previous experience with roofing, construction, window cleaning, gutter cleaning, landscaping, tree work, exterior cleaning, ladders, or similar trades may qualify you for a higher starting rate.
What You'll Do
You'll report as scheduled to our Lake Stevens shop, load the day's materials and equipment, and travel with your crew in a company vehicle to customer properties.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Install professional Christmas light displays
- Install roofline lights, wreaths, garland, and other holiday décor
- Carry, set up, and climb ladders
- Walk and work on residential and commercial roofs
- Wrap trees, trunks, and branches with lights
- Run extension cords and set timers
- Troubleshoot and repair lighting displays
- Load and unload ladders, tools, lights, and materials
- Maintain clean and organized company vehicles and job sites
- Perform lighting service calls throughout the season
- Carefully remove and organize displays during January takedowns
- Assist with gutter cleaning and moss treatment services when assigned
Ladders, extension cords, clips, tool belts, safety equipment, Christmas lights, and rain gear will become your everyday tools of the trade.
And yes — this is Washington. We work outside in the rain.
