Catering Sales Manager – Back Alley BBQ

About the Role
Back Alley BBQ is looking for a true sales hunter to build and grow our catering business. This role is for someone who knows how to create business, not sit around and wait for the phone to ring.
You will be expected to prospect, follow up, close orders, build relationships, and drive repeat business. If you are self-motivated, competitive, and want your pay tied directly to your production, this can be a strong opportunity.
If you need heavy supervision, want a guaranteed paycheck without performance, or are uncomfortable with outreach and closing, this is not the role for you.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Generating new catering business through calls, emails, walk-ins, networking, and relationship-building
- Following up on leads quickly and consistently
- Closing catering orders and driving repeat business
- Building sales with offices, schools, event planners, local businesses, and community groups
- Coordinating orders accurately with the operations team
- Tracking leads, quotes, booked events, and follow-up activity
- Hitting weekly and monthly sales goals
Compensation
- Base Pay: $500 per week
- 10% commission on all first orders from new clients
- 5% commission on monthly catering sales up to $10,000
- 7% commission on monthly catering sales from $10,001 to $20,000
- 10% commission on monthly catering sales above $20,000
- $50 to $100 bonus per new client booked
- Monthly bonus of $500 to $1,000 for hitting or exceeding sales targets
- Additional bonus opportunities for high-margin orders
What We’re Looking For
- Someone confident in sales, follow-up, and closing
- Someone who is organized, urgent, and accountable
- Someone comfortable hearing “no” and continuing to push
- Someone who can create relationships and turn them into revenue
- Hospitality, catering, restaurant, event, or outside sales experience is a plus

- New clients coming in consistently
- Strong follow-up and response times
- Monthly sales goals being hit
- Repeat catering business growing over time
- A real pipeline being built, not excuses

This is a performance-based role. The base pay is intentionally low because the upside is in commissions and bonuses. The right person will see opportunity in that. The wrong person will see risk.
