Responsibilities
- Assist skilled carpenters with framing, trim carpentry, door hanging, cabinet installation, and siding projects.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to understand project requirements.
- Perform heavy lifting and physical tasks such as concrete forming, rebar installation, roofing, masonry, and drywall installation.
- Support site preparation activities including demolition, water damage restoration, mold remediation, and general cleanup.
- Follow safety protocols on construction sites to ensure a secure working environment for all team members.
- Contribute to restoration projects by assisting with plastering, stucco application, caulking, flooring installation, tile laying, and electrical or plumbing tasks as needed.
Skills
- Basic understanding of construction estimating and blueprint reading.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and metal stud framing.
- Knowledge of various construction disciplines such as carpentry (including trim and framing), masonry, roofing, electrical work, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Familiarity with schematics and technical drawings used in fabrication and assembly processes.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience on construction sites or in restoration industry settings is highly desirable.
- Strong work ethic with excellent attention to detail; willingness to learn new skills like CNC machining or water damage restoration techniques.
