Rust-Oleum Corporation has an opening for a 1st Shift Facilities Maintenance Technician at its manufacturing facility in Hagerstown, MD. The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general and detailed maintenance on the facility and equipment.
Duties:
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassembling equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
- Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
- IPaint and Repair to help maintain facility.
- Perform manufacturing area general cleaning duties.
- Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
- Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hand tools, and power tools.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with Supervisors, peers, or subordinates: provide information to supervisors and co-workers in written form or in person.
- Utilize all tools available including email or electronic devices to keep up with work orders submitted within the facility
- Maintain a good record of attendance and punctuality.
- Contact vendors to set up service calls for any needed maintenance in the facility
- Maintain list of equipment and asset tags, who they are assigned to and where they are located.
- Learn all manual tasks performed within the department.
- Perform tasks assigned using specific operating procedures, and following department specific quality control processes and procedures.
- Treat people with dignity and respect.
- Conduct all business with integrity.
- Adhere to Rust-Oleum Corporation Quality principles and participate in all departmental and company-wide Quality activities.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED or a combination of High School education with work experience.
Flexibility to work extended hours as coverage needs require, ability to work overtime.
