Title: Coil Winding Technician
Shift: M-F (6am - 3:30pm)
Location: N. Canton, OH
Salary: $23-$26/hr, depending on experience
Coil Winding Technician Role:
A Coil Winding Technician is responsible for performing all operations necessary to wind, assemble, test, and repair electrical and melting furnace coils. This role ensures the production of high-quality coils and furnaces that meet customer specifications and electrical standards at our client's North Canton, OH location.
Coil Winding Technician Responsibilities:
- Set up winding machines and related equipment to match coil design and specifications
- Mill copper ends to proper dimensions and braze tops to conductors
- Place insulation, tie and tape coils, shellac windings, and tag leads for identification
- Assemble coils completely and perform degrouting and regrouting
- Mount hydraulic tubing, cylinders, and assemblies on melting furnaces
- Perform hydraulic and water tests to ensure proper operation
- Adhere to all safety regulations and follow clean-up procedures
- Use measuring devices to set up, adjust, and verify conformance of work
Coil Winding Technician Reporting Relationships:
This position reports directly to the Manufacturing Department head. There are no direct reports for this role.
About You:
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Possess two years of experience brazing and/or welding
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from drawings, bills of material, and specifications
- Effectively communicate in one-on-one situations with other employees
- Have experience with a variety of hand and power tools
- Can perform basic math functions, including metric conversions
- Possess the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in tight spaces
- Be able to work in a factory environment with moderate to loud noise levels
