Role Description This is a full-time, on-site HVAC Lead Installer role based in East Hanover, NJ. The HVAC Lead Installer will oversee and perform installation of residential heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with code and company standards. Daily responsibilities include reviewing job plans, coordinating with warehouse and dispatch, loading materials, installing equipment and ductwork, and performing system start-ups and testing. The role also involves diagnosing installation-related issues, mentoring and guiding installation helpers or apprentices, and maintaining clean, organized job sites. The HVAC Lead Installer will communicate clearly with customers and office staff, complete required documentation, and support a culture of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills in HVAC Maintenance & Repair and Preventive Maintenance, including system installation, start-up, and performance checks.
- Proficiency in Troubleshooting HVAC systems, wiring, controls, and installation-related issues with the ability to resolve problems on-site.
- Commitment to Customer Satisfaction, including clear communication, professional conduct, and respect for customers’ homes and businesses.
- Current or attainable EPA certification for handling refrigerants, with knowledge of relevant safety and environmental regulations.
- Several years of experience as an HVAC installer, including leading or supervising installation crews.
- Familiarity with local mechanical codes, safety standards, and best practices for residential HVAC installations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and installation manuals, and to use standard HVAC tools and testing equipment.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physical job duties.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an HVAC trade school program or apprenticeship is preferred.
