Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Activity Coordinator to plan, organize, and facilitate engaging activities for individuals with special needs. The ideal candidate will promote social interaction, skill development, and overall well-being through meaningful activities tailored to individuals’ interests and needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a diverse activity schedule that promotes social, recreational, and skill-building activities.
- Assess individuals’ interests, preferences, and abilities to customize activities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment during activities.
- Collaborate with staff, families, and service providers to ensure activities align with individuals’ goals.
- Maintain records of activities and individuals’ participation.
- Ensure safety and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in social work, recreation, or related fields preferred.
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a care setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for engaging others.
