Qualifications of Employment: Bachelor's or master's degree in the subject area.Master's degree and teaching experience required for music coordinator positionA teaching license or plan for obtaining one approved by districtA passion and love for learning and teaching studentsExcellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Resilience and a positive attitude.Superb interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.The ability to establish rapport and build professional relationships with students.A high degree of professionalism.A growth mindset.Band Director (High School/Junior High) Develops the individual student musician providing exemplary instructionDevelops a successful marching bandDevelops a successful concert bandProvides individual instruction to students to help them successfully compete at region and state eventsMaintains all records as required by the districtCommunicates with parents and administration concerning students or band eventsBand Director (Middle School ) Develops the individual student musician providing exemplary instructionProvides individual instruction to students to help them successfully compete at region and state eventsDevelops a successful concert bandMaintains all records as required by the districtCommunicates with parents and administration concerning students or band eventsDirector should: Adhere to all district policies, requirements and expectations.Attend all Russellville band functions outside of the school day to provide support and supervision.Whenever possible, be available for administrators, parents, and students, even if it is outside of the regular work day. Have consistent hours during which the band rooms are open so that students can practice and get their equipment (7:30 - 4:00 is the norm).Maintain all District equipment including instruments, uniforms, and furniture.Participate in all ASBOA functions that involve Russellville students.Be supporters of our patrons, the Russellville Band Boosters Club.Follow the guidelines of the Russellville Band Handbook.Have the philosophy that a student should never be placed in an embarrassing situation and that all performances should be prepared to prevent a student from feeling embarrassed.Follow all TESS rubric "proficient" level expectations for their roleDevelop lesson plans in the relevant subject area and grade and ensure all lessons align with curriculum objectives.Use a range of appropriate teaching materials and methods to deliver content.Provide additional support and interventions for struggling students and extra resources to those ahead of the class.Prepare students for tests, exams, presentations, experiments, and other assessments.Grade assessments and provide feedback and reports to students and parents.Attend and interact in staff and parent meetings to provide helpful recommendations or voice concerns.Establish rapport and professional relationships with students, staff, and parents.Supervise students in class, during events, and on field trips.Other duties as assigned.
