Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) – Database Services

Position Summary

We’re seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) – Database Services to join a dynamic technology operations team. This role focuses on maintaining, automating, and improving enterprise database environments to ensure high availability, performance, and resilience. You’ll work onsite with a highly collaborative team, using cutting-edge tools to support critical financial systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage automation for database operations and monitoring.
• Maintain and optimize Oracle (11g/12c/19c) and Exadata platforms.
• Proactively identify and resolve issues to improve reliability and prevent incidents.
• Support performance tuning, RMAN backups, Data Guard, RAC, and ASM configurations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
• Contribute to observability and self-healing solutions for database systems.
• Assist with database modernization initiatives, including Cloud Data Warehouse, AWS RDS, Postgres, and MS SQL Server environments.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5 years of hands-on experience in Oracle and Exadata administration.
• Strong knowledge of RMAN, Data Guard, RAC, ASM, and Exadata features.
• Working experience with MS SQL Server and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in Python or similar scripting languages for automation.
• Familiarity with observability tools such as Dynatrace.
• Solid understanding of SRE concepts: SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and incident prevention.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle Database and AWS certifications.
• Experience with ITIL Foundation framework.
• Exposure to DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Location & Employment Type

• Location: Plano, TX (100% onsite)
• Employment Type: 12-month contract with potential for extension
• Start Date: November 17, 2025
• End Date: November 13, 2026

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $63.52 – $65.52 /hour
