Through compassionate care, innovative services, and a commitment to excellence, we empower individuals to live fulfilling, independent lives in a supportive community environment.Position SummaryThe Temporary Assistant Controller will be the primary support Temporary Controller for billing, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts payable. This will assist in the organization, filing and preparation of monthly financial statements and other documents required for audits. The person in this role is a crucial support role within the agency's accounting department, working closely with the Temporary Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and efficient operations. Key ResponsibilitiesOverseeing accounting processes: Managing the day-to-day operations of accounting functions, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.Maintains the cash account reconciliations for the agency and any affiliates for internal control. Prepares and books necessary journal entries after receiving the proper authorization.Helps prepare monthly financial statements by input of recurring entries, input other information as requested.Reconcile all bank statements for internal control purposes. Prepare financial statements by working with the Temporary Controller to create and analyze income statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports.Identify and analyze differences between actual and budgeted figures of financial data to identify trends and opportunities.Identifying and resolving issues related to financial data and accounting processes.Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent errors.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.Maintain accuracy and security of financial data.Completes all other tasks as assigned that are consistent with the skills of the person and best characterized by the position.Minimum QualificationsA bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field with a demonstrated pattern of progressive accounting responsibility and supervision. ORAn associate degree and a minimum of five (5) years of experience with Accounts Receivable and Payable processing, as well as general ledger entries and maintenance. A minimum of two years' experience with Medicaid, Medicaid Title XIX MR/DD Waiver, health insurance, and/or private funding sources for rehabilitation and/or clinic services is preferred.EOE StatementRussell Nesbitt Services, Inc.
