What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Supervisor Night Shift position at RUSSELL MCCALLS INC?
Job Overview
You will oversee all daily outbound shipping activities. Your responsibilities will include managing personnel, product movement, documentation, and ensuring that all shipping functions are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards. You will provide leadership on your assigned shift and help maintain a clean, organized, and productive shipping environment.
What does your day look like? Some of your duties may include:
- Ensure daily shipping activities are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Monitor team compliance with warehouse procedures and company standards.
- Oversee proper material handling techniques, rotation practices, and safety procedures.
- Track and maintain employee work hours and monitor overtime.
- Ensure shipping work areas are clean and prepared for the next shift.
- Maintain the safety, quality, and legality of all food products.
Things you need to be able to do:
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs., carry up to 50 lbs., and push/pull up to 30 lbs. of force.
- Ascend and descend a step with a height of 10 in. From the floor.
- Able to work in cold environment for an extended period of time.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Able to reach bend.
Things that are a plus:
- High School Diploma or higher education
- 2–3 years of relevant experience.
- Must have a complete understanding of all aspects of shift operation.
- Pallet jack certification and forklift certification are recommended
