Customer Service & Car Wash Attendant – Day & Afternoon Shifts

Russ’ Car Wash is a locally owned and operated car wash in Toledo, and we’re looking to add two great people to our team — one daytime employee and one afternoon employee.

For these openings, customer service is especially important. We need people who are friendly, comfortable talking with customers, able to learn a register, and can become dependable cashiers.

However, this is NOT a position where you’ll stand behind a register your entire shift. We’re a small team, and everyone is trained to work throughout the wash. You’ll rotate between cashier/customer service, prepping vehicles, and towel drying.

What You’ll Do

Cashier & Customer Service

• Greet customers and provide friendly, helpful service
• Operate the register and handle cash/card transactions
• Learn our wash packages, monthly memberships, specials, and pricing
• Answer customer questions and explain options clearly
• Keep the line moving efficiently while still making customers feel welcome
• Help resolve basic customer questions or concerns professionally

Vehicle Prep

• Use pressure washers and bug-prep equipment before vehicles enter the wash
• Work quickly and carefully to help produce a clean vehicle

Towel Dry & Quality Control

• Hand dry vehicles as they exit the wash
• Pay attention to details and make sure we're putting out a clean car
• Interact with customers and assist with questions when needed

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has strong customer service and communication skills
• Is comfortable learning and regularly working the cashier position
• Is dependable and shows up when scheduled
• Has reliable transportation
• Can work quickly when we get busy
• Has a positive attitude and doesn’t get frustrated when a rush comes in
• Takes pride in doing a job well
• Can stay productive without needing to constantly be told what to do
• Is comfortable working outdoors in hot, cold, and changing Ohio weather
• Can stay active and on their feet throughout the shift
• Is willing to learn and work ALL positions
• Can keep their phone put away while working
• Works well as part of a small team

Previous cashier or other customer service experience is strongly preferred, but we’re willing to train the right person.

Daytime:
Availability should generally begin between approximately 8:00–11:00 AM, depending on the day, with availability until approximately 3:00–4:00 PM. Earlier and broader daytime availability is a plus.

Afternoon:
We can work with different afternoon start times, but applicants must be able to begin no later than 4:00 PM. Earlier availability is even better. We close at 8:00 PM.

Weekend availability is important for both positions.

Because a car wash is weather dependent, scheduled hours can occasionally change based on weather and business volume. Our winter salt season is one of our busiest times of year, so dependable attendance is extremely important.

Pay & Perks

• $11/hour base pay
