JOB SUMMARY
The Danville Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting daily poultry production operations through preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, and disciplined problem solving. This role focuses on preventing breakdowns, supporting production flow, and taking ownership of the facility.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform daily preventive maintenance inspections on assigned systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot manure belts, egg belts, conveyors, motors, bearings, and drives.
- Support uninterrupted egg flow from house to processing.
- Identify and correct root causes — not just symptoms.
- Complete PM tasks on schedule.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas.
- Follow all biosecurity and safety protocols.
- Communicate clearly with production and management.
- Support emergency repairs when required.
- Participate in on-call rotation as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in maintenance, manufacturing, agriculture, or industrial environments preferred.
- Ability to perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to walk and work in poultry houses daily.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work in temperature variations, dust, and live production environments.
- Wear required PPE.
HOURS
Monday–Friday, 5:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (primary on-call window during these hours)
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- $21–$30/hour overtime eligibility
