Position Summary
The HR Coordinator – Compliance & Administration is responsible for ensuring organizational compliance with employment laws and HR policies while providing comprehensive administrative support to the HR department. This role manages critical compliance processes, maintains accurate employee records, and assists with onboarding, reporting, and audits. The position serves as a key resource for HR documentation, regulatory adherence, and day-to-day HR operations.
This is a hybrid position based in Huntsville, AL.
Essential Functions
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Support internal audits and prepare documentation for external audits as needed.
- Monitor and update HR policies and procedures to align with legal requirements and best practices.
- Review and write / edit job descriptions
- Assist with the performance management system, including performance planning, coaching and feedback, performance reviews, and improvement plans
- Coordinate mandatory training programs and track completion for compliance purposes.
- Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Prepare and submit required reports to state agencies and regulatory bodies.
- Provide administrative support for HR projects, performance management processes, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
- Assist with benefits enrollment and liaise with providers as needed.
- Support HR leadership in implementing compliance programs and organizational initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of HR experience with a focus on compliance and administrative support.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
** The target salary for this position is between $60,000-$70,000 per year.
