Position Overview:

Rural Financial Services is looking for a dependable Maintenance Assistant to help keep our properties safe, functional, and welcoming. In this role, you will support day-to-day maintenance needs, help identify and resolve property issues, and provide timely service that contributes to a positive experience for tenants and residents.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inspect, diagnose, and repair building maintenance issues, including mechanical, structural, and safety-related concerns.

2. Troubleshoot equipment issues and help ensure property systems operate safely and efficiently.

3. Respond promptly to routine and emergency maintenance requests.

4. Follow safety regulations, company standards, and established maintenance procedures.

5. Coordinate with contractors and vendors when larger repairs or special projects require outside support.

6. Maintain accurate maintenance records, work logs, and related documentation.

7. Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

What We’re Looking For:

· High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.

· Working knowledge of tools, equipment, and machinery commonly used in maintenance work.

· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.

· Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a team.

· Clear communication skills and a customer-service mindset.

· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

· Ability to stand, bend, and work indoors or outdoors for extended periods.

· Ability to safely use ladders and other required safety equipment.

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
