We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Product Development Manager with a passion for color cosmetics. The ideal candidate will have experience overseeing the entire product lifecycle, from concept to customer delivery, bridging innovation with logistics to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality product flow, involving supplier and inventory management, demand planning, production coordination, logistics optimization, stakeholder communication, and continuous process improvement to meet market needs and company goals. The ideal candidate will have experience in product development and supply chain for color cosmetics, working with formulators and packaging suppliers. They should excel in a collaborative environment, possess strong communication skills, and have an entrepreneurial spirit. Meticulous organization, attention to detail, multitasking ability, and a desire to contribute to team success are crucial.
Responsibilities:
· Conceptualize, develop, evaluate, and launch new cosmetics and hybrid skincare products, as well as extend and refresh existing product lines. Focus on expanding and improving the supply chain and profitability.
· Stay updated on the latest trends and innovations in cosmetics, ingredients, hybrids, packaging, and product design. Market and competitor research.
· Collaborate directly with the CEO and Brand Founder, team members, outside agencies, and vendors to meet product development and marketing timelines, budgets, schedules, and objectives.
· Drive brand growth through innovative product development and execution. Focus on ideating new product ideas, target marketing channels, sales revenue, P&L projections, and channel identification. Evaluate formula submissions, direct labs, validate claims, and ensure product performance objectives are met.
· Plan and manage budgets for new products, markets, and sales channels. Establish and drive strategy and product assortment.
· Coordinate contract manufacturing, packaging supply chain, and inventory management using Cin 7 Core system, for existing and new products to maximize efficiency and profitability.
Oversee contract manufacturing and production planning to meet demand efficiently using Cin 7 Core inventory management system.
· Establish benchmarks, product briefs, ingredient guidelines, and marketing briefs. Work closely with external labs to deliver on product objectives, understand issues, trends, and technologies, review product submissions, provide feedback, and establish testing protocols.
· Ensure compliance with FDA MOCRA requirements, state-level regulations (e.g., CA Toxic-Free Cosmetics Act and WA State Toxic-Free Cosmetics Act), and all product development and packaging regulations, and ensuring alignment with the company's mission and commitments to performance, ethics, and safety.
· Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure products are brought to market on time and within budget. Communicate crucial aspects of product development to operations, sales, legal, and product safety teams
· Prioritize and manage multiple projects with a high level of detail in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
· Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field.
- Minimum 10 years product development experience at brand or formulator level
- Minimum 5 years-experience with Excel and Microsoft office, experience with Slack and Google docs
- Experience with supply chain, inventory management, Cin 7 Core and/or ERP systems.
- Experience with Shopify
- Production knowledge with understanding of manufacturing environment
- Understanding of financial forecasting, legal compliance, and cosmetics quality standards.
- Strong problem solving, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills; able to handle multiple priorities
- Ability to work in fast-paced, often-changing environment
- Ability to work well with cross functional teams
- Ability to manage time and multiple projects
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and projects to meet deadlines and objectives.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, on-site. Potential for one day remote.
Pay: $53.00 - $55.00 per hour. First 90 days contract basis then full -time, company 401k plan and profit sharing subject to plan requirements and eligibility, paid holidays and health insurance stipend.
