Purpose of the Assistant Casino Manager:
The Assistant Casino Manager manages performance and directs the daily activities for an assigned area of the casino.
- Provides oversight for employees while being visible on the casino gaming floor.
- Manages subordinate staff in their day-to-day performance.
- Enforces performance standards, policies and procedures related to Casino Games, and ensures compliance with gaming regulation. Enforce and support company policy.
- Fill in as a Casino Manager in their absence.
- Delivering progressive discipline to employees found violating performance standards, polices, procedures, and/or cheating in the casino.
- Provide a pleasant and professional environment for employees.
- Responsible for implementing fairness for dealer rotations and updating the daily line-up as needed.
- Continually observe games in progress for dealer misconduct.
- Responsible for scheduling the breaks for all Casino Games personnel.
- Coordinates scheduling needs with employee(s) responsible for scheduling in a timely manner.
- Assist in interviewing applicants for open positions and oversees employee training sessions.
Casino Gaming Floor Management
- Provides oversight for guests while being visible on the casino gaming floor.
- Survey's the casino floor for cheats and alerts the Casino Managers to suspected card counters
- Provides a pleasant and professional environment for guest.
- Renders impartial decisions when a problem and/or error occurs and settles all player disputes professionally and courteously.
- Continually observe games in progress for player misconduct.
- Responsible for checking previous shift bank rolls for accuracy. Inform Casino Managers of daily win/losses.
- Must master the game tracking system and use it effectively.
- Addresses and resolves guest inquiries and complaints.
- Ensures that projects/department milestones/goals are met.
- Maintain awareness of special events and promotions and communicates this information to employees and guests.
- Establish and maintain regular contact with key customers in the Casino Games area.
- Continually monitor business levels on Casino floor, adding to and reducing staff as needed to maximize profits and maintain an accepted level of payroll.
- Ensures that all daily paperwork is maintained and completed.
- Ensures that key and card control is accurate and complete. Ensures casino equipment and supplies are secure and updated.
- Reports losses, and serious guest complaints, to Casino Managers.
- Maintains complete confidentiality of employee personnel, company and professional information.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills/Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of Casino Games experience.
- Minimum 1 to 3 years supervisory experience in Casino Games industry and strong customer skills.
- Extensive knowledge, along with dealing and or supervising experience in all approved RA Casino Games and department processes.
- Must possess great customer and communication skills and be able to think and reason in difficult situations.
- Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrates authoritative but fair leadership qualities.
- Should have friendly and calm demeanor, along with a high level of patience.
- Must work well with a team.
- Must possess the ability to obtain and maintain a Minnesota Racing Commission gaming license
Physical, intellectual and environmental conditions:
- Ability to handle stressful conditions with guests and employees and maintain a calm and professional demeanor at all times.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods while on the Casino floor.
- Must be able to work flexible shifts in crowded and noisy environments.
- Must be able to read all related information such as Aces Rewards Cards, table information, cards as well as distinguish differences between different colored chips.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and move boxes of relevant supplies.
