Position Summary:
The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the delivery of quality resident care in accordance with the Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS) standards and facility policies. This role provides clinical leadership to the care staff, ensures regulatory compliance, and works collaboratively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams to promote health and well-being in a supportive, assisted living environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and support direct care staff, including Medication Aides, CNAs, PCAs, and other nursing team members.

Ensure residents receive appropriate assessments, care plans, medication administration, and monitoring.

Monitor clinical documentation and ensure compliance with VDSS regulations and facility protocols.

Respond promptly and effectively to changes in residents' conditions, emergencies, and incidents.

Conduct routine audits of resident records, medication administration, and staff performance.

Serve as the primary clinical liaison for physicians, pharmacies, and external providers.

Train, mentor, and evaluate care staff; ensure annual competencies and in-service requirements are met.

Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and resident care conferences.

Maintain infection control standards and participate in emergency preparedness procedures.

Ensure timely and accurate reporting of accidents, incidents, and health concerns.
Work Environment:

The role requires regular on-site supervision, occasional weekend or evening availability, and participation in an on-call rotation.

Frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs) required.

Qualifications:

Current LPN or RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia (Required)

Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in assisted living, long-term care, or geriatric settings

Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred

Knowledge of Virginia Assisted Living Facility regulations and best practices in senior care

Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and a team environment

CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)

Must pass background checks and TB screening per state guidelines
Salary : $65,000 - $70,000
