What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diesel Mechanic - Heavy Equipment & Trucks position at Runge Enterprises, Inc?
Runge Enterprises, Inc. is hiring a full-time Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of heavy construction equipment and dump trucks.
This position works on a variety of equipment used in excavation, grading, utilities, and heavy highway construction. We're looking for someone who can diagnose problems, perform quality repairs, and help keep our equipment ready for the next job.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, air brakes, and drivetrains
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine service
- Repair and maintain dump trucks, excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, graders, trailers, and other construction equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues in the shop and occasionally in the field
- Perform inspections and identify repair needs
- Maintain service records and communicate equipment status with supervisors
- Keep the shop clean and organized
Qualifications
- Experience working on heavy construction equipment and diesel trucks
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
- CDL is a plus, but not required
- Valid driver's license
