User Experience Designer III (6315)

RUN STUDIOS LLC
SEATTLE, WA Full Time
POSTED ON 4/30/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 6/30/2026

Solve complex, high-stakes UX challenges at the intersection of industrial automation and human-centered design.

Run Studios and our client partner, a global online retailer, are seeking a talented, passionate User Experience Designer to leverage world-class robotics and automation technologies to build a best-in-class visualization platform. This platform will be an integrated, real-time interface that combines robotic floor operations with material handling equipment data on a large scale. This platform directly shapes how fulfillment center operators interact with conveyor networks, robotic workcells, and industrial control systems across global operations.

The ideal candidate knows how to translate ambiguous operational requirements into intuitive interfaces and can move fluidly from user research to high-fidelity prototyping. An unfailing passion for advocating on behalf of operators and engineers is an absolute must — this role will significantly impact how thousands of fulfilment center operators and controls engineers interact with some of the most sophisticated automation systems in the world.

As a UX Designer, You Will

  • Quickly yet thoroughly create process flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups as needed to effectively conceptualize and communicate detailed interaction behaviors for complex, data-dense interfaces including real-time dashboards, alert management views, and operator control panels
  • Plan and conduct user interviews with FC operators, controls engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements, surface pain points, and synthesize findings into personas, journey maps, and task flows
  • Partner with UX designers across FTR organizations to build a consolidated, consistent visualization platform, contributing to shared design systems, component libraries, and UX standards
  • Present design work to the UX team, product and engineering partners, and senior Amazon stakeholders for review and feedback
  • Collaborate directly with front-end and controls engineers to ensure design integrity through implementation, including design QA during development sprints
  • Provide leadership in the area of industrial UX, operational interface design, and Human Machine Interface (HMI) best practices

In This Role, You Bring

  • 5 years of industry experience providing interaction design solutions for web, software, or operational applications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience
  • Fluency in best practices for information architecture and design, with strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar
  • A strong online portfolio demonstrating past work experience and relevant, user-centered design solutions across desktop and mobile is required
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills, including the ability to communicate complex interaction design concepts clearly across technical and non-technical audiences at varying levels of the organization
  • Self-starter who is customer-obsessed, detail-oriented, and an enthusiastic team player
  • Ability to work with highly technical engineering teams and manage multiple workstreams in an agile, fast-paced environment
  • Experience designing for industrial, operational, or SCADA/HMI systems
  • Ability to prototype in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, or Axure
