Assistant Store Leaders-hourly paid starting at $20.25 on a required 45-hour work week (previous leadership experience credit will be considered with a potential of a higher starting rate up to @ $24.00 per hour).

Ruler Foods is a small format value grocery chain that is part of the Kroger Family of Stores. We are searching for candidates with prior Leadership background (3 years minimum within a Leadership role) that are excited, motivated career minded individuals who are ready to pursue the career advancement opportunities that we have to offer at Ruler Foods in our Cape Girardeau, MO store.

• Candidates must be able to work between the hours of 6 am and 10 pm Sunday thru Saturday
• Must be open to travel to train at a store location other than Cape Girardeau, MO

Essential Functions:

Assist store teams in the achievement of a favorable customer shopping experience by focusing on full, fresh, and friendly.

Assist in leading teams in the planning, implementation and execution of merchandising and operating initiatives.

Work with team members to identify opportunities in the store, develop timely solutions and create action plans to ensure implementation of plans.

Drive sales working with team members to maximize sales and profits, reduce shrink and improve each department's contribution.

Assist in the regular store-level financial performance discussions to include developing budgets and other targeted goals with store team members.

Analyze and respond to the competitive landscape within the district and division.

Utilize field staff to ensure store departments are achieving sales and profit goals and ensure implementation, and execution of division merchandising plans.

Serve as liaison providing feedback to Store Manager, District Manager and Area Manager on the effectiveness of Division merchandising and operational plans and programs.

Assist in staffing, reducing turnover, increasing retention and store operations.

Provide timely feedback to team members on individual and department performance.

Assist with the management of labor and supply costs on a daily basis to meet customer service and financial targets.

Technical and Professional Knowledge

Must be 21 years old for consideration

Must be able to travel to train for a period of 3 weeks REQUIRED
