Ruiz Lopez CPA is seeking an International Tax Senior Associate to join our growing team. This role provides the opportunity to review and prepare complex tax returns, manage multi‑entity structures, and mentor junior associates. You will take on a key role in both compliance and advisory work, helping clients meet their tax obligations efficiently and strategically.

Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise, mentor, and coach tax associates.
- Review associate‑prepared work for accuracy, completeness, and technical relevance.
- Provide constructive feedback to support professional growth.
Tax Preparation & Compliance
- Review and prepare workpapers, allocations, and federal and state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and C corporations, including international tax forms.
- Oversee the collection and analysis of client‑provided financial and tax information.
- Supervise the preparation of quarterly estimated tax calculations.
Consulting & Special Projects
Contribute to and oversee research, analysis, and deliverables for a variety of consulting engagements, including:
- Year‑end tax projections
- International tax planning and treaty analysis
- Cross‑border transaction structuring
- Cash repatriation strategies and offshore investment planning
- Financial modeling for tax optimization
- Tax structure reports and transaction step plans
Client Onboarding & Engagement Support
- Review professional service proposals, master service agreements, and statements of work.
- Oversee onboarding steps to integrate clients and their entities into our platform.
- Assist with and review billing-related processes.
Client Communication & Deliverables
- Draft client correspondence related to IRS regulations, tax positions, and planning opportunities.
- Participate in client meetings and collaborate with internal teams.
- Develop high‑quality deliverables for client engagements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Master’s degree in Taxation
- One of the following active credentials obtained, in process, or willing to obtain:
- CPA license (or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam)
- If not CPA‑eligible: Licensed Attorney or Enrolled Agent
- 3 years of experience in tax planning and/or compliance, with a focus on international taxation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex matters
- Strong analytical and research capabilities
- Experience with all Microsoft Office products (with an emphasis on Excel)
- Experience with UltraTax, Onvio, QuickBooks, and Bloomberg Tax preferred
- Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines
- Highly motivated, organized, and detail‑oriented
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future sponsorship
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Willingness to work overtime during tax season
Compensation Statement
- The annual base salary range is $70,000 - $95,000, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, licensure, certifications, experience and skill sets.
- Eligibility for Earn Your Bonus, our billable‑hours‑based bonus program designed to reward performance directly and transparently
- This position follows an on‑site work model.
- Candidates must be located in the Miami area and able to commute to our Coral Gables office.
- 80 hours of paid time off annually, plus six federal holidays and the day after Thanksgiving
- Paid holiday shutdown between Christmas and New Year’s Day
