The Manager, Procurement Processes and Improvement is strategic leader responsible for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of key Procurement processes. This role will assess current processes, identify improvement opportunities, develop, and implement improvement plans. Working closely with Procurement Category Managers and functional stakeholders (Quality, Operations, Finance, and IT) this leader will gain alignment on industry best practices and champion change. This individual contributor reports to the Head of Procurement and is a key agent for change and improvement.
The primary scope of process responsibility includes sourcing, materials requirement planning (MRP), inventory management, physical supply risk, and invoice settlement. As a thought leader, this individual will apply strong business, systems, and procurement knowledge to ensure Ruiz Foods processes are efficient and effective.
As the Process Improvement subject matter expert, this leader will possess deep knowledge of industry best practices and understand the business needs of internal stakeholders. This individual will be well versed in change management. Key performance indicators will be developed and reported in order to measure performance and report improvement. Processes will be documented and training will be conducted to help ensure sustained improvement.
COMPENSATION: $130,000 - $145,000/Year DOE, Bonus Eligible
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee key Procurement Processes, including but not limited to:
Sourcing:
- Strategy selection
- Multi-step sourcing process from requirements assessment to agreement negotiation
Material Requirement Planning:
- Champion an MRP culture within Procurement (accurate and actionable system driven recommendations)
- Master data management
- Establish standard MRP procedures in collaboration with IT
Inventory Management:
- Techniques to minimize on-hand inventory while ensuring demand is met
- Safety stock management
- Obsolete material management
Physical supply risk:
- Establish risk mindset
- Maintain risk assessment tool
- Establish techniques to reduce supply risk
Invoice settlement:
- Establish standard purchase order management in collaboration with IT
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure that process are complimentary across functional areas
- Report on process effectiveness and improvement via KPI’s
- Continuously drive to improve processes
- Further the journey from reliance on individuals to systems and processes that endure team member changes
- Stays informed on industry best practices
- Address business needs as necessary outside of traditional working hours
- Other duties, as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Business-related field and 5 years of pertinent procurement experience in a CPG company. Certifications in Lean/Six Sigma and Professional certifications are ideal
- Demonstrated achievements in Procurement Process Improvement
- Deep MRP systems experience
- Ability to lead teams and influence stakeholders. Has a keen understanding of best-in-class Procurement processes and is able to collaborate with and meet stakeholder’s needs.
