Qualifications:
|
- Valid New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) Administrative License
- Minimum three (3) years of school administration experience (High School experience preferred)
- Minimum five (5) years of classroom teaching experience (High School experience preferred)
- Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field
- High-level knowledge of state and federal regulations related to PreK–12 education programs
- Experience implementing Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
- Proficiency in analyzing student data (academic and behavioral) to support student growth and instructional planning
- Familiarity with Professional Learning Communities (PLC’s) Model and effective implementation of PLC’s
- Strong understanding of the developmental, academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of high school students
- Familiarity with high school instructional frameworks and Multi-Layered Systems of Support (MLSS)
- Demonstrated success in school improvement and instructional leadership
- Ability to manage changing priorities, deadlines, and regulatory updates
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Effective planning and decision-making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills for collaborative work with staff, families, students, and community members
- Effective staff and public relations skills
- Proficient in educational technology
- Ability to perform essential job functions

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
|
- Assist the Principal in providing effective leadership in the implementation and evaluation of the total high school program
- Support the supervision and evaluation of certified and classified personnel as assigned
- Assist with the implementation of school improvement initiatives focused on academic achievement, student growth, graduation readiness, and equity
- Support alignment of instructional goals with school and district priorities; collaborate with staff in curriculum development and instructional implementation
- Implement and support Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), restorative practices, and student engagement strategies appropriate for high school students
- Manage student discipline with an emphasis on restorative practices, accountability, and student support
- Foster a safe, supportive, and student-centered school environment
- Assist with the coordination of school operations including scheduling, supervision, assessments, school activities, and co-curricular programs
- Support implementation and monitoring of Multi-Layered Systems of Support (MLSS/SAT) and intervention systems
- Collaborate with teachers and staff on instructional strategies, behavior supports, and data analysis to improve student outcomes
- Analyze academic, attendance, graduation, and behavioral data to inform school improvement efforts and instructional planning
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development support for staff
- Assist with maintaining accurate student records, attendance documentation, discipline documentation, and compliance reporting
- Promote positive relationships and communication with students, families, staff, and community stakeholders
- Assist in communicating school programs, initiatives, and student performance information to families and the community
- Support school safety plans, emergency procedures, drills, and crisis response protocols in accordance with district policy and state requirements
- Participate actively in leadership team meetings, district trainings, and ongoing professional learning
- Demonstrate visibility and active engagement by attending school-sponsored extracurricular activities, student performances, athletic events, and community functions to support students and foster positive school-community relationships
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent
