Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Grooming Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a strong desire to provide exceptional care and grooming services. WE ARE CURRENTLY ONLY SEEKING CANDIDATES WITH PRIOR BATHING EXPERIENCE. As a Grooming Assistant, you will work closely with groomers to ensure pets are well-cared for and receive the highest standard of grooming services. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and excellent animal handling skills.
Duties
- Assist groomers in bathing, drying, and grooming pets to maintain their hygiene and appearance.
- Handle various breeds, sizes, and temperaments of dogs with care and confidence.
- Prepare grooming tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean and in good working order.
- Monitor the health and behavior of pets during grooming sessions, reporting any concerns to the groomer.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including washing towels, cleaning equipment, and disposing of waste properly.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ needs and grooming requirements.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of pet care practices including bathing, brushing, and general grooming techniques. (Willing to train someone as well)
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling larger breeds or equipment.
- Experience in animal handling is essential; prior experience in pet grooming is a plus.
- A compassionate attitude towards animals combined with excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with coworkers and pet owners.
