Duties
- Provide comprehensive grooming services including bathing, brushing, hair trimming, haircutting, and pet coat styling tailored to each dog’s breed and individual needs
- Perform pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and other health-related grooming tasks to promote overall pet well-being
- Handle dogs with care using animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff during grooming procedures
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and provide expert advice on pet coat care and maintenance
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, including sanitizing tools and equipment after each use to uphold hygiene standards
- Assist with animal handling during check-in and check-out processes, ensuring a smooth experience for clients and their pets
- Support kennel cleaning, pet sitting, and other animal care duties as needed to contribute to a safe and welcoming environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience in pet grooming or related animal care roles such as veterinary technician or veterinary assistant is highly desirable
- Strong dog handling skills combined with animal handling expertise across various species including equine experience is a plus
- Knowledge of veterinary procedures such as pet nail trimming, animal restraint, and basic health assessments
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners confidently and professionally
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for equipment or large dogs
- Prior experience in pet coat styling, pet grooming, kennel work, or pet sitting is advantageous
- A genuine passion for animals coupled with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service
