About Us
We are an 11.5 year old busy and growing dog boarding and daycare facility dedicated to providing a safe, clean, and fun environment for our guests. We are seeking a dependable and experienced Kennel Lead / Supervisor to help oversee daily operations and support our team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with dogs, leading a team, and maintaining high standards of care.
Position Summary
The Kennel Lead / Supervisor assists management by supervising kennel staff and ensuring that all dogs receive excellent care. This position combines hands-on animal care with staff leadership responsibilities.
You will help maintain a safe environment for dogs while ensuring smooth daily operations. This position reports directly to our Kennel Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Animal Care
- Supervise safe handling and care of all dogs
- Monitor dog health and behavior
- Ensure proper feeding and medication administration
- Observe and report any injuries or concerns
- Maintain safe playgroups
Staff Leadership
- Supervise kennel staff during shifts
- Train new employees on procedures
- Assign daily tasks and ensure completion
- Provide coaching and guidance
- Model professional behavior
Facility Operations
- Maintain high cleaning and sanitation standards
- Ensure kennel areas are safe and secure
- Monitor supply levels
- Assist with opening and closing duties
Customer Service
- Communicate with pet owners professionally
- Answer questions about services
- Assist with check-in and check-out when needed
- Represent the business in a positive manner
Qualifications
Required
- Experience working with dogs
- Strong reliability and work ethic
- Comfortable handling dogs of all sizes
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work weekends and holidays
Preferred
- Previous kennel or daycare experience
- Leadership or supervisory experience
- Knowledge of dog behavior
- Experience with group play supervision
