About the Role
We're looking for a warm, detail-oriented person to cover our Saturday morning shift. This role is a great fit for anyone who wants consistent, predictable part-time income without it taking over their life — you're done by noon, every week.
Whether you're a student, a young parent, or simply looking for reliable extra income that works around your schedule, this is a role where you can show up, do meaningful work, and still have your day ahead of you.
You'll be the face of Rudy's for our customers — handling drop-offs, returns, scheduling, and payments. This is a small but important role: you'll often be working independently, so reliability and good judgment matter.
What You'll Do
- Greet customers and manage rug drop-offs and pick-ups
- Carefully inspect and document incoming rugs, noting any pre-existing condition issues
- Answer phones and schedule pick-up and delivery requests
- Process payments and close out transactions
- Represent Rudy's with professionalism — including handling questions about our services and pricing with confidence
What We're Looking For
- Prior customer service or hospitality experience — retail, restaurants, front desk, campus jobs all count
- Detail-oriented — you notice things and write them down
- Comfortable working independently and using good judgment
- Reliable: this is a solo shift, so showing up consistently is the most important thing
- Warm, professional manner with customers
- Comfortable with basic computer use for scheduling and payments

Compensation & Schedule
- $20–$22 per hour, based on experience
- Every Saturday, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM — done by noon, weekends still yours
- A few paid weekday training shifts to get you fully up to speed
- Consistent, predictable hours — easy to plan around whatever else is on your plate
- Ideal candidate is staying in Charlottesville this summer — for the right person, there's opportunity to pick up additional weekday hours and hands-on cleaning work as the season gets busy
