Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and friendly Assistant/Receptionist to join our vibrant master-barber team! In this role, you will be the welcoming face of our salon, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth daily operations. Duties
- Greet clients warmly upon arrival, creating a friendly and professional first impression
- Manage the front desk by scheduling appointments using salon software such as Boulevard and handling client check-ins and check-outs
- Assist clients with retail product recommendations, upselling hair care, and other grooming club services
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards across all areas, including hair stations, nail stations, and treatment rooms
- Support master-barbers with preparation of tools and products for coloring (color theory), and styling services
- Handle phone inquiries, provide information about services offered including barbering, facials, waxing and straight razor shaves
- Manage retail stock levels and perform basic store management duties including inventory tracking and sales transactions using retail math principles
- Assist with mentoring new team members on customer service protocols and grooming club procedures
Experience
- Previous experience in a customer service role within a salon or spa environment is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of salon software systems such as boulevard or similar platforms is highly desirable
- Familiarity with hair styling techniques is a plus
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high standards of sanitation and professionalism
- Basic retail sales skills including upselling techniques and retail math proficiency are advantageous
- Experience with store management tasks such as inventory control or mentoring staff will be considered an asset
