Role Description This full-time Associate role is an on-site position based in Old Bridge, NJ. The Associate will handle a range of matters within the firm’s practice areas, including drafting pleadings and motions, conducting legal research, and preparing memoranda and correspondence. Daily responsibilities include meeting with clients, assessing case facts, developing legal strategies under attorney supervision, and appearing in court or administrative hearings as needed. The role also involves managing case files, participating in negotiations and settlement discussions, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure timely and effective case progression. The Associate will be expected to maintain high professional standards, uphold confidentiality, and contribute to a supportive, client-focused work environment.
Qualifications
- Strong legal research and writing skills, including the ability to analyze statutes, case law, and regulations and prepare clear, persuasive legal documents.
- Experience or coursework in one or more of the firm’s practice areas (e.g., bankruptcy, personal injury, immigration, criminal, family, or civil litigation) and interest in developing subject-matter expertise.
- Effective client communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts in understandable terms and build trust with diverse clients.
- Solid organizational and time-management abilities, including managing multiple matters, meeting deadlines, and maintaining accurate case documentation.
- Professional courtroom and advocacy skills or a strong willingness to develop them, including comfort with hearings, negotiations, and oral argument.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active admission to the New Jersey Bar, or eligibility for prompt admission.
- Commitment to ethical practice, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to working with attorneys, staff, and external parties.
- Proficiency with standard legal research tools and law firm technology, including case management and document management systems.
