Purchasing Specialist

Rudd Plumbing Heating Air & Electrical is locally owned and operated with a reputation for providing quality service and installation to the greater Charleston community for over 10 years.

The Purchasing Specialist keeps our jobs moving by making sure the right materials and equipment are on hand, sourced at the best price, and tracked from purchase order to jobsite. This is a hands-on role that focuses on buying, vendor management, and warehouse/inventory control while working closely with our field crews, department managers, and office staff.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Manage purchasing for HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical materials and equipment
• Request and compare price quotes from suppliers and shop for the best pricing
• Source materials and build relationships with vendors and distributors
• Create, track, and reconcile purchase orders (POs)
• Manage inventory levels, warehouse stock, and company equipment
• Receive, organize, and stage materials for upcoming jobs
• Keep accurate records and update material and inventory data
• Coordinate with department managers to forecast material needs
• Identify cost savings without sacrificing quality or lead time

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Experience in purchasing, procurement, warehouse, or inventory management
• Comfortable working in a CRM / job-management software system
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to negotiate pricing and manage multiple vendors
• Knowledge of plumbing and HVAC materials preferred
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to keep a busy operation running smoothly
