Summary

Ruby Jewel Ice Cream is home to the Northwest's #1 ice cream sandwich, and we are seeking energetic people to join our ice cream sandwich production and manufacturing team.

Our ice cream sandwiches are truly handmade. We mix, squish, and package thousands every day at our Portland production HQ. If you’re dependable, detail-oriented, and enjoy working in a fun, fast-paced team environment, we’d love to have you help craft our signature ice cream sandwiches.

Principal Responsibilities

• Set up and operate equipment: Prepare mixing pumps, tanks, and blending equipment. Ensure equipment is functioning correctly and sanitized according to safety standards.
• Blend ice cream base and inclusions: Follow mix recipes carefully to blend ingredients to the correct texture, temperature, and flavor profile.
• Track ingredients and production details: Record lot codes, quantities used, and batch numbers for all ingredients and ice cream bases to maintain full traceability and food safety compliance.
• Follow all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and food safety guidelines.
• Support the production line: Assist with sandwich production roles. Rotate between stations as needed to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Prepare and code packaging materials: Label, code, and stock packaging supplies (boxes, pouches, bags) for daily production runs. Verify codes for accuracy before use.
• Stock and organize supplies: Restock materials throughout the day to keep the production line running smoothly. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Move and track inventory: Transfer finished goods and raw materials between production, cold storage, and the warehouse while following inventory control procedures.
• Sanitation and cleaning: Complete daily, weekly and monthly cleaning tasks, including sanitizing work areas, tools, and equipment. Handle cleaning chemicals safely and follow all sanitation SOPs.
• Palletize and store finished goods: Stack and wrap pallets of finished products for freezer storage or shipment.
• Work safely and collaboratively: Communicate with your teammates and leads to coordinate tasks, maintain production flow, and uphold Ruby Jewel’s values of collaboration, accountability, inclusion, quality, and joy.
  
  

Physical Requirements And Working Environment

The position is a production team position within a food manufacturing environment which may at times require the following:

• Regular contact with allergens (e.g., nuts, dairy, gluten, latex).
• Operation of manual and automated equipment (freezers, packaging lines, liquid nitrogen tunnels, etc.).
• Use of manual and power tools (e.g., box knife, drill, hammer).
• Standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs.
• Work periodically in a cold storage
• Safe handling of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals.
  
  

Education, Prior Work Experience, Specialized Skills And Knowledge

• Previous food manufacturing preferred.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English for safety and recipe instructions.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork.
• Willingness to learn and follow established production and safety procedures.
