Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure all food products are fresh, properly stored, and handled safely in accordance with food safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following sanitation and hygiene procedures at all times.
- Support overall kitchen cleanliness, including dishwashing and waste management
- Assist in receiving and putting away truck deliveries, checking items for quality and accuracy.
- Prep ingredients and items for the line, ensuring efficient and organized workflow during service.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, including proper rotation of ingredients to minimize waste.
- Adhere to portion control guidelines to maintain food costs and consistency.
- Assist in training and mentoring kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate food orders.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment, supporting team members and contributing to a culture of excellence.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a line cook in a restaurant setting, experience in vegan or plant-based cooking a plus.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, including proper handling of allergens and dietary restrictions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
