We are currently seeking a Cashier to join our team. As a Cashier, you will be the face of our company, responsible for processing customer transactions, providing friendly service, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.
Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greet customers with a warm and friendly demeanor, answer questions, and provide assistance as needed.
- Cash Handling: Accurately and efficiently handle customer transactions, including cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment.
- Register Operation: Operate cash registers or point-of-sale (POS) systems, ensuring they are in proper working order.
- Price Verification: Verify product prices and apply any applicable discounts or promotions.
- Receipts and Change: Provide customers with accurate receipts and change, ensuring that all transactions are balanced.
- Bagging: Bag customer purchases in an organized and secure manner, offering assistance with larger or heavier items.
- Inventory Knowledge: Maintain a basic understanding of store products, their locations, and current promotions to assist customers effectively.
- Security: Monitor the checkout area for any suspicious activity, and follow security and loss prevention procedures.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with other staff and management to maintain a smooth workflow. Work effectively as a TEAM.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Previous cashier or retail experience is preferred but not required.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions.
- Integrity and honesty in dealing with money and customer information.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy ingredient containers.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Our normal store hours are 8:30AM-6:30pm Mon-Sat & Sunday 9AM-2PM
