We are seeking an experienced (at least 5 years of immigration law and bilingual Spanish or Portuguese a plus) dynamic and detail-oriented Immigration Attorney to join our legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work across a diverse range of practice areas forcusing on all areas of immigration law, criminal motions for new trial and federal tort claims act litigation. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering exceptional legal services, conducting thorough research using platforms like LexisNexis, and honing their legal drafting and advocacy skills. Duties
- Attend United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOIR) immigration court hearings.
- Draft Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) briefs and Petition for Review (PFR) Circuit Courts of Appeals briefs for oral arguments
- Assist in preparing for hearings, trials, negotiations, and client meetings by organizing case files and evidence
- Support attorneys in managing litigation processes from inception through resolution
- Engage in client consultations to retain for flat fee retainers and gather information and provide updates on case progress
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with legal administrative procedures
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active Massachusetts bar admission
- At least 5 years of experience in immigration law
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis is essential
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce well-structured legal drafts and memoranda
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for reviewing complex legal documents
- Effective negotiation abilities coupled with excellent communication skills
- Prior experience working in a law office environment or legal environment is required
