About the Role:
Rubicon Refractories Inc. is looking for a hardworking and dependable General Laborer to join our team in Hammond, IN. Responsibilities:
- Perform general labor tasks in support of daily precast refractory operations and production
- Assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials, equipment, and supplies
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in compliance with safety standards
- Support skilled tradespeople and crew members with installation and maintenance tasks
- Operate basic hand tools and power tools as directed
- Follow all company safety protocols, PPE requirements, and OSHA guidelines
- Complete tasks efficiently and accurately under the direction of a supervisor
Requirements:
- Prior experience in general labor, construction, or industrial/manufacturing environments preferred but not required
- Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player with a positive work ethic
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and safety equipment a plus
- Must be able to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
- Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes is a plus but not required
